To the members of the Texas Music Educators Association:
I appreciate to the utmost degree your selection of the Overton Mustang Band as the class A Honor Band.

In my twenty-three year tenure at Overton High School our band program has never been in better hands than those of Glenn Wells our band director for the past seven years. He has challenged our students to maintain and improve the strong band traditions that are prominent in the history of Overton High School. He guided the band to the UIL State Marching Contest in 2001, won all three categories of the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series in 2002, and class A Honor Band in 2003. This record is to be admired and cherished by our school and community.

The Overton High School students achieved these lofty goals by hard work and dedication to being the very best they could be in a highly competitive endeavor. It gives me such great pleasure when I witness the success of our students because they have experienced the hard work and perseverance can accomplish. This will be invaluable to them while traveling down the arduous road of life.

Thank you again for recognizing our band program and for making it possible to perform at the TMEA Convention.

Sincerely,Harold D. Stanger
