Rob Toups has been Director of Bands and Fine Arts for the Canton Independent School District since 1991. Mr. Toups holds a B. M. E. degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and has taught in Louisiana and Texas for the last 17 years. Prior to teaching music, he performed professionally on a variety of musical circuits in nineteen U. S. cities, including Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Las Vegas. He has conducted bands in Europe and Canada and is a respected clinician and adjudicator throughout the South. Mr. Toups’ professional affiliations include TBA, TMEA, TMAA, LMEA, and ATSSB. He is serving his second term as the AAA School Band Representative on the State Board of Directors of ATSSB. He and his lovely wife, Carolyn, have three children, Leah, Lindsey, and Mark.

David Landry is in his third year as Associate Director of Bands for Canton ISD. His responsibilities include administrating the middle school band program, conducting the Canton Middle School Symphonic Band, and assisting with the high school bands. Prior to teaching in Canton, Mr. Landry taught for six years in Whitehouse ISD, and five years in Louisiana. He holds a B.M.E. degree from McNeese State University and a M.M.E. degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Landry is active as a clinician in the East Texas area and currently serves as the ATSSB Region 3/20 Middle School Coordinator. His professional affiliations include TMEA, TBA, ATSSB, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Ginger Dillard

is in her third year as an Assistant Band Director with the Canton Bands. Her responsibilities include conducting the Canton Middle School Concert Band, coordinating and instructing the high school and middle school colorguards, and assisting with beginning band classes. Ms. Dillard attended Tarleton State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education in the fall of 1999. While in college she served as president of Tau Beta Sigma and was a charter member of Mu Phi Epsilon. She is affiliated with TMEA and ATSSB.


Christopher McHenry

is currently in his third year in Canton Independent School District, where he serves as the high school concert band director and director of percussion, including the writing and arrangement for the Eagle Marching Band’s percussion section. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. McHenry earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he studied under Kenneth Green. He is active as an adjudicator throughout Louisiana, and is a member of TMEA and the Percussive Arts Society.
