CODE
OF CONDUCT |
Since, along with
musical skill, encouraging self-discipline
and respectfulness in students are
among the primary purposes of this
Band, the following Code of Conduct,
which addresses behavior as well
as attitude, shall be adhered to
by all participants
1. Participant shall
arrive at least 10 or 15 minutes
early.
2. Participant shall
be responsive and obedient Obey the
director so that his work will be
a joy and not a burden.
3.
Participant shall be truthful
in answering the Director's
questions, not being silly or saying " I
don't know" if he/she really does.
4.
Use the "Buddy
System".
5. Participant shall
be quiet and attentive to the Director,
showing respect toward everyone,
and not complaining.
6. Participant shall
be extra mindful of others, letting
others go first, sharing materials
and equipment cheerfully, taking
turns, and generally treating each
other lovingly.
7. Participant shall
not hurt one another with unkind
words or deeds. There shall be no
criticism or making fun of anyone
else, their work, their answers,
their performance, etc.
8. Participants shall
arrive and depart with all their
belongings. The student shall be
considered responsible for arriving
to practices and performances with
all required music, instruments,
and equipment.
9. The student shall
carefully maintain the instrument
and music books he/she plays.
10. No candy or gum.
No eating or drinking in the Band
Hall.
11. No public displays
of affection between students.
12. Dating between
band members is strongly discouraged
because of the disunifying consequences
that can result.
13. Clothes should
be clean, neat, appropriate for the
event and should be modest in appearance.
14. Participant shall
not touch instruments that do not
belong to himself. The student or
student's parents shall be responsible
for any damage done to other people's
instruments.
