The East Texas Jazz Orchestra played a Fall Gala Dinner/Dance for Hide Away Lake resort just northwest of Tyler on Saturday October 28.2006. Although the band had five substitute musicians, the performance was a great success. In fact the substitutes were so great they acted as an inspiration to the rest of us in the orchestra.

The orchestra was graciously accepted by the audience. They seemed to have a great time. It is wonderful to play for people that appreciate both the style of music and the performance. We look forward to playing for this group in the future.

The orchestra would like to thank Mr. Wayne Dyess for driving more than four hours to play the lead trombone book with us. His professionalism and musicianship are an encouragement to the entire band.
